Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Roofer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of roofing systems and techniques, with the ability to work effectively in various weather conditions. This role requires physical stamina and the capability to perform heavy lifting, as well as a keen eye for detail to ensure high-quality workmanship.

Duties

Install, repair, and maintain roofs using a variety of materials including shingles, tiles, and metal.
Read and interpret schematics to determine the layout and specifications for roofing projects.
Collaborate with carpenters and other tradespeople to ensure proper integration of roofing systems with other building components.
Fabricate and assemble roofing components as needed, ensuring they meet safety and quality standards.
Perform masonry work related to roofing installations, including flashing and chimney repairs.
Conduct regular inspections of roofs to identify potential issues or necessary repairs.
Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively while adhering to all safety protocols.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times.

Skills

Proficiency in reading schematics and blueprints related to roofing projects.
Experience in carpentry, masonry, or related fields is highly desirable.
Ability to build, plumb, and fabricate various roofing structures efficiently.
Strong physical fitness with the capability for heavy lifting (up to 50 kg).
Experience with welding techniques is an advantage but not essential.
Familiarity with different types of roofing materials and their installation methods.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
