Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Scaffold Builder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for constructing and dismantling scaffolding structures to ensure safe access for workers on construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of safety protocols, as well as the ability to work effectively with various hand and power tools. The Scaffold Builder will collaborate with other tradespeople, ensuring that all scaffolding meets the necessary standards for stability and safety.
Responsibilities
Construct and assemble scaffolding according to specifications and safety regulations.
Dismantle scaffolding after use, ensuring all components are accounted for and stored properly.
Use hand tools and power tools to fabricate scaffolding components as needed.
Ensure that all scaffolding is plumb, level, and secure before use.
Collaborate with carpenters, masons, and other trades to coordinate scaffolding needs for various projects.
Conduct regular inspections of scaffolding structures to identify any potential hazards or maintenance needs.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Assist in training new team members on proper scaffold building techniques and safety practices.
Qualifications
Proven experience in scaffold building or a related field is preferred.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Knowledge of masonry techniques is an advantage.
Ability to plumb structures accurately and ensure stability during construction.
Familiarity with welding processes is beneficial but not mandatory.
Basic electrical skills may be advantageous for specific projects involving scaffold integration with electrical systems.
Experience in painting or finishing work on scaffolding structures is a plus.
Strong physical fitness, with the ability to work at heights and lift heavy materials as required.
Excellent teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues on site.
