Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ironworker/Steel fixer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in the use of various tools and equipment. This role involves working on construction sites, fabricating and installing metal structures, and ensuring that all work is performed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Fabricate, assemble, and install metal structures such as beams, columns, and frameworks.
Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine specifications and layout.
Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete tasks effectively.
Perform heavy lifting and manoeuvre materials as required on-site.
Collaborate with other construction professionals including carpenters and masons to ensure project completion.
Conduct regular inspections of work areas to maintain safety standards.
Assist in the installation of roofing systems as necessary.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times.

Qualifications

Proven experience as an Ironworker or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various hand tools and power tools.
Experience in masonry or carpentry is advantageous.
Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50kg) consistently throughout the day.
A valid commercial driving licence is a plus for transporting materials when required.
Proficient in welding techniques and practices.
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to safety regulations.
Ability to work well within a team as well as independently when necessary.
