POSITION SUMMARY

Tolerance Masters, Inc. is a precision machine shop located in Circle Pines, MN. We specialize in the manufacturing of close tolerance flight safety and critical performance machines parts and sub-assemblies.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Deburring Operator to join our team. The Deburring Operator will be responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections from aerospace components to ensure they meet industry standards for quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have experience working with precision parts and will be proficient in using manual and automated deburring tools.


HOURS

Monday-Thursday: 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Fridays- Overtime as required


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Remove burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections from metal and composite aerospace components using various deburring tools
Inspect finished parts to ensure all burrs and sharp edges are removed and verify that the part meets engineering specifications and quality standards
Ensure all parts meet aerospace industry tolerances and safety standards. Report any non-conformances or defects to the supervisor or quality control team
Select and operate appropriate deburring tools, including manual hand tools, power tools, vibratory finishing equipment, CNC deburring machines, grinders, etc. depending on part requirements
Perform polishing, sanding, and other surface finishing techniques to improve the appearance and functionality of the part while adhering to customer specifications
Maintain accurate records of completed work, including inspection results, part counts, and any issues that arise during the deburring process
Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Collaborate with production engineering, and quality control teams to address any issues related to deburring and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Assist with the maintenance and care of deburring equipment, ensuring it is in proper working condition and performing routine checks for tool wear or malfunction


QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year experience in a deburring or finishing role, preferable within the aerospace or precision manufacturing industry
Proficiency in using a variety of deburring tools and automated equipment (vibratory finishers, pencil grinders, carbide bits, grinding wheels, buffers microscopes)
Ability to read and interpret engineering for aerospace components, such as AS9100 or NADCAP
Knowledge of safety protocols and proper PPE usage when working with tools and equipment
Ability to stand or sit for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds and work with small intricate parts requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Technical certifications or training in manufacturing or machining
Experience in deburring aerospace or precision-engineered components
Familiarity with the operation of CNC machines or other automated finishing equipment
Previous training in quality control or inspection of aerospace components


WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing environment: moderate to high levels of dirt, noise, vibrations, equipment movement hazards, fumes, chemicals/solvents, and electrical hazards. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, etc. is to be worn as applicable throughout the entire shift.
