Full-time Admin Officer – Education Support Service

at The Jeya Group in Gateshead

We are looking for a Admin Officer – Education Support Service that will provide financial and administrative support to the Education Support Team.

The key roles of the post will include:

1) The management of the office of the Education Support team providing a wide range of financial and administrative services.

2) To co-ordinate between the team, the Raising Achievement Service, and their wide range of external agencies and partners, ensuring an effective and efficient service is provided.

3) To gather, analyse, evaluate and interpret information from a wide range of sources. To interpret this information into styles suitable for a wide range of audiences .To develop and support new channels of communication such as new letters, updating websites, prospectuses etc- to enable the information to be accessed by a varied audience.

4) To research and gather complex information from a wide range of sources, and assimilate into meaningful data in the form of databases and spreadsheets.
Analyse/interpret information to brief senior officers. Utilise information to assist in the drafting of reports for the various partnership meetings.

5) Preparation of reports and presentations for submission to a wide range of influential organisations such as Education Improvement Partnership, Government Office North East, Gateshead Council Cabinet, National Strategies, Health and Voluntary sector using various Microsoft software packages including PowerPoint.

6) Provide secretarial support to the team i.e. co-ordinating diaries of the team members and to the various partnership meetings i.e. Education Improvement Partnership/Behaviour and Attendance subgroup, National Strategies Officer Meeting, Fair Access Panel Meetings etc. Arranging meeting venues, drafting agendas preparation of minutes. Organise, arrange, attend and support training events, training programmes and conferences.

7) To monitor all associated budgets and manage specific delegated budgets. Providing budget holders with regular budget reports utilising Agresso. Ensure that relevant budgets are allocated in an effective and timely manner to respective partners. To ensure costs for services are recharged correctly.

8) Other responsibilities allocated which are appropriate to the grade.

The candidates must have:

Qualification:
 NVQ Level 3 in Business Admin or equivalent
 NVQ L4 or equivalent
Experience of:
 Microsoft Office Word processing/databases/ powerpoint and spreadsheets
 Communicating effectively
 Customer care
 Working on own initiative
 Prioritising work
 Working to right deadlines
 Preparing bids for funding from external sources
 Budget management/monitoring
 Information analysis
Knowledge of:
 Local Government and Education Services
Qualification:
 A minimum of 5 GCSE’s grades A-C or equivalent, including English and Maths
 European Computer Driving Licence (or equivalent)
Experience of:
 Working for Local Government
 Budgets/Aggresso financial system
 Attention to detail and sound organisational skills
 Meeting planning/Minute Taking

DBS required for this role.

Pay Rate: £13.47 p/hr
