We are looking to fill a short term vacancy in our busy Internal Audit Team, we offer flexible hybrid working and are looking for an enthusiastic experienced candidate who can help us deliver our 24/25 audit plan which covers wide spectrum of services delivered by a modern local authority.

To support the Assurance & Risk Manager deliver a modern and effective Internal Audit service that has the skills and experience to be able to provide independent and objective assurance to help support services in achieving aims and objectives and add value through providing consultancy services.

Key Tasks of the Post:

1. Undertake audits and investigations in line with agreed Internal Audit (PSIAS compliant )procedures.

2. Drafting clear and concise terms of reference and agreeing them with Heads of Service and Senior Managers.

3. Drafting clear and concise audit reports taking into account the scope and objectives of the audit.

4. Lead audits where the supervision, direction and training of junior members of staff is required.

5. Review the files and provide feedback to junior members of staff.

6. Represent Internal Audit on project boards, working parties, etc, as and when required.

7. Present audit reports to Heads of Service and Senior Managers.

8. Deputise for Principal Auditors where required.

9. Keeping up to date with developments in governance, risk management, control and internal auditing.

10. Promoting the highest standards of ethics and standards across the organisation.

The candidates must have:
• Finance or Audit qualification
• Clean Driving Licence
• BPSS to be completed upon offer
