University NOW Day Nursery on the Princeton University campus has a current opening for a Leave Replacement Lead Teacher in an Infant Room with the expected time frame starting August 1, 2024 for 6 months. At UNOW Day Nursery, Lead Teachers work collaboratively with 3 other teachers on their team to build a classroom environment that supports warm, nurturing, consistent relationships with infants and families. Lead teachers directly hold responsibility for the overall quality of all aspects of the classroom while also demonstrating a strong awareness infant development and the ability to plan curriculum and experiences that meet each child's needs. Additionally, a Lead Teacher would be expected to spearhead the ongoing assessment of some of the children and the Parent/Teacher Conferences that happen as a result of that process. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must; the application process is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate those. UNOW Day Nursery is a steadfastly play based child-centered NAEYC accredited center in existence for over 50 years as a non-profit organization and maintains a vibrant partnership with the Princeton University to provide care and education for children 3 months to 5 years. UNOW Day Nursery is a full-day, full year program with regular hours between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. UNOW Day Nursery mandates a COVID vaccine for all staff to be fully vaccinated with a primary dose and one booster at the start of employment.

Leave Replacement Lead Teacher: (full time)

Minimum of AA in Early Childhood Education
Strongly prefer a Bachelors or Masters in Early Childhood (or NAEYC equivalent)
Minimum 3 years of experience in similar position
The ability to demonstrate how a solid understanding of infant/toddler development dictates the physical environment of a classroom as well as the developmentally appropriate experiences that are provided in them a must.

Lead Teacher - commensurate with education and experience -$23.00 - $26.00/hr. This is a 37.5 hrs/week, 6 month, salaried position.
