UI Designer – Long term employee

About JPI – Jaguar Processing Inc. is the project management company assigned the task of developing the web platform for the new (un-named) e-commerce enterprise.

In this role, you will be working with product owners to design, implement, continuously develop and ultimately maintain the user interface of an interactive web application for an exciting new e-commerce platform in a global enterprise cloud computing environment. We are in search of self-motivated team players that can demonstrate initiative and take ownership of their own product deliverables, in the form of high level designs and graphics assets throughout development and user testing. Initially you will be working with a small team to develop a scalable solution that will be deployed in the cloud using the latest tools in enterprise computing platforms (AWS, Azure etc.).

The basic qualifications for this role include:

• A Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Diploma in Human Computer Interaction or User Interaction Design with relevant industry experience,

• Prior experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, particularly web application developers, to deploy usable and accessible end-user interfaces,

• Expertise in user-centered design and iterative end-to-end deliverables, such as personas, user journeys, wire-framing, and high fidelity mock-ups,

• Strong proficiency in modern interface design tools including Sketch, Balsamiq, Invision, Omnigraffle and/or Adobe Creative Suite,

• 3+ years of industry experience in planning, prototyping and designing interactive experiences for both web and mobile platforms,

• A portfolio that showcases your work and demonstrates your ideas and contributions to specific projects.

Our preference is for candidates to have:

• A desire to work the first 600 hours on the project in return for equity in the enterprise,

• Experience working in an Agile environment with cross-functional teams that build, test, deliver and support enterprise software to clients throughout the full software development lifecycle,

• Strong communication skills for working with other technical and business professionals in a product-based team where collaboration is required to define product features, prioritize requirements and build releases based on a unified technical specification,

• The ability to gather ideas and concepts from stakeholders and produce creative mockups and wireframes that demonstrate a testable prototype,

• Knowledge of software repository systems (i.e. Git) and collaborative workflows (you thoroughly test all assets cross-browser and/or platform, prior to release).
