Description



At least 5+ years of experience in a specialized role that includes implementation, support, and maintenance of large scale n-tier web applications

• Proven background in the development and deployment of complex operational systems

• Expert level knowledge with any version-control tool like ClearCase, CVS or Subversion

• Configuration and release Management experience in large software projects

• Experience with build automation and continuous integration tools. (ANT, JIRA, etc)

• Strong knowledge of UNIX scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, Python Etc.

• Strong knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems

• Must have knowledge of the workings of defect tracking tools and be able to define and setup work/process flows in Quality Center;

• Strong knowledge of server and application architectures;

• Must be able to work in cross functional teams to provide the best solution

• Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines;

• Ability to effectively interface with technologists, business owners, and end-users

• Demonstrate coordination; organization, creativity, flexibility, and strong analytical skills;

• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

• Flexibility to work overtime as required (may need to be on call to support a 24x7x365 technical operation)



DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• Experience with EMC Documentum

• Knowledge of NYC Government culture

• Experience in J2EE is a big plus

• Database experience with Oracle 9i/10g

• Experience with J2EE application servers such as Tomcat, JBOSS, WebLogic

• Experience with application monitoring tool like Quest Foglight

• Experience in deploying web applications and its components in multiple regions
