Server Engineer – Project Web Lead Engineer – OpenCandy Software Network (SweetLabs)
Do you have a passion for building awesome web applications? Are you a PHP / MySQL ninja who's comfortable with front-end tools like jQuery and scriptaculous? Do you focus on scalability and user experience when building applications? Would you like to work for a Google Ventures-funded startup that's focused on connecting users with applications? We’re looking for someone to lead the web development of new product extensions and help to maintain and optimize the OpenCandy Software Network. What you’ll be doing
• Leading web/server development of the Software Network, including internal and external tools
• Considering performance and scalability when making all design and development decisions
• Implementing new features into our existing product
• Redesigning/refactoring existing Version 1 code into the next evolution
What we’re looking for from candidates (must-haves)
• The ability to take high-level requirements and produce a refined product (Both visually and technically)
• Extreme proficiency in the LAMP environment
• Experience developing large, consumer-facing websites
• 5+ years of PHP and MySQL design and development experience
• 5+ years of front end web experience, including working experience with JavaScript libraries such as jQuery/prototype/YUI
• Proficiency with memcached or other distributed caching systems
• A passion for innovative software products
• Large code base experience a plus
• Experience working with multi-discipline teams a plus
• Python a plus
• Strong understanding of developing QA requirements a plus
