The Employment Security Commission (ESC) is seeking to fill a short term (approx 12 month) contractor assignment for a Data Migration Specialist. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

Leading the analysis of existing data feeds into current mainframe data systems, data conversion and integration solutions required to support unemployment insurance benefit payment business processes

Analyze data in various applications

Mapping the data between various source systems

Working with business users to research accuracy, correctness, completeness and relevance of data to fulfill legal and technical system requirements

Identifying and cleaning invalid and outdated information

Support and perform User Acceptance Test activities for Data Conversion and cleansing

Ensure proper documentation is captured, maintained, understood by and available to business and/or IT partners

Develop project plan with resource and time estimates

Escalate critical technical issues and potential problems

Address any related issues in advance of deadlines.

Candidate must possess or exceed all the following requirements:

Minimum of five (5) years experience with Data migration projects and technologies

Demonstrated experience:

Legacy (mainframe) Data migration and data cleansing efforts

Designing and documenting conversion and interface specifications

Importing and exporting data from mainframe to relational databases

Data analysis and data mapping

Estimating resource and time requirements for the data conversion and cleanup

Development of project plans with the resource and time estimates

Data cleansing projects for government agencies

Excellent analytical skills

Detail and process-oriented

Proven ability to coordinate activities with business and technical teams

Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge/skills in the following areas:

Experience with unemployment insurance Guide Benefit Payment system will be a plus

Computer Associates ERWin.
