Anytime they do something right, congratulate them and help them find a way to continue to succeed.
Treat Your Students Respectfully
If you want your students to respect you, you need to respect them. When they are speaking, don't interrupt them. Take their concerns seriously. If you are in the middle of something else, set up a time when you can talk to them later. Never use your phone while class is in session. Keep all of your attention focused on your students. In essence, you should treat your students the same way that you want them to treat you.
